Real Betis 0-9 Barça: Big victory for the Liga F Champions!

We are Liga F champions! Barça claim the domestic trophy after defeating Betis in a game that proved smooth sailing for Pere Romeu's side. That's now 10 league titles for the team and their sixth in a row. After first the Spanish Super Cup and now the Liga F title, celebrations will surely ensue, but there is still work ahead as the Champions League and Copa de la Reina finals come into view.

The league title is yet more confirmation of blaugrana domination in the domestic competition. They have clinched the title on the penultimate matchday in the league, with just a final match against Athletic Club at Estadi Johan Cruyff to come.

Superb start

Pere Romeu's side clearly wanted to wrap up the title quickly, and in just the 2nd minute, Claudia Pina's great cross was finished by Ewa Pajor for her 22nd league goal this season, extending her lead as the competition's top scorer. Roles reversed for 0-2, as Pajor assisted Pina to score just five minutes later (0-2, min. 5).

Betis didn't have much of a chance to express themselves given the blaugrana attacking onslaught, and just to make matters more difficult, Pajor was felled  by home keeper Vizoso, who ended up being sent off in the 27th minute as the last player.

With the circumstances very much in their favour, Barça made the most of the opportunity to claim another goal before halftime, as Esmee Brugts seized on a poor clearance from the home side.

Liga F title confirmed

More of the same for Claudia Pina in the second half, as she got another two to complete her hat-trick and pretty much confirm the Liga F title was in the bag (0-4, min 49; 0-5, min 52). This side loves scoring goals, though, and next up was Aitana, who finished a great combination with Alexia to score the sixth, before the captain herself joined the scoring party to make it seven.

They kept pushing for more, but both substitute keeper Gil and the woodwork prevented further goals for a while. However, both Pajor and Alexia found the back of the net once again in the last ten minutes to confirm the biggest win of the season and the achievement of becoming Liga F champions with one matchday still to play. Congratulations all round!
